We are delighted to have partnered with the English Schools Football Association (ESFA) to sponsor 14-year-old Harpenden schoolgirl superstar Annabelle Tang, who plays for the England Schools International U15 schoolgirls team, Hertfordshire at a county level and other local teams.

Annabelle’s first International friendly takes place against the Wales U16 Schoolgirls’ squad at the TNS stadium on Sunday 10th March. Following this, the annual Bob Docherty tournament will be held in Athlone, Ireland, where the English Schools teams will play against their Scottish, Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland counterparts.

Annabelle’s love of football started aged 2-3 attending indoor football sessions followed by playing recreational football throughout her primary school years.

Whilst playing local grassroots football age 6, Annabelle attended an Arsenal football day camp and received player of the match that day and was asked to trial at Arsenal on the same day.

From there, she joined the Arsenal Women’s’ pre-academy and then the academy, she is currently playing in the U16s Arsenal women’s academy team, training several times a week and playing a weekly match.

As part of the England Schools FA, Annabelle has represented Hertfordshire County for the past two years and this year attended trials for the England Schools International team. She took part in three trials, to get through to the South East squad, the South squad and then through to the final England Schools U15 team.

Emily Waddell, Head of Marketing & Business Development said: “We are delighted to support our local rising superstar Annabelle who dedicates so much of her time to the sport she loves, as well as keeping up with her school studies. Women’s national and international football is finally getting the attention, following, and funding it deserves and it is important to support young, upcoming players on their journey through the game. We wish Annabelle and the team every success in this weekend’s game and the tournament and look forward to following her journey.”

Annabelle Tang said: “Football is my passion and I am delighted to have been selected for the ESFA U15s schoolgirls team. I’m excited and looking forward to taking part in the International matches.  Women’s football is becoming more popular and right now opportunities like this for young players are only possible due to the active support of sponsors so my appreciation goes to Taylor Walton Solicitors for supporting me on my football journey. “

The ESFA is the governing body for schools’ football in England and helps support players who want to stay in mainstream education rather than joining a football academy, building for themselves a secure foundation with qualifications and a possible career in football. They generate over 50,000 playing opportunities for school pupils across the country each year with 110,000 players taking part in National School Cup competitions. They work hard to create equal and inclusive access to the sport, particularly its provision of girl’s football.
